 “We had such a good time, Francis, both the peacock and the old tractor were big hits. I just realized when we got home though that we forgot to wash the grillpan. Mortified. Hope that wasn’t a dreadful surprise for you!”

 I very much enjoyed the butchery course. Everything about it - facilities, teachers, food (Yum) - was wonderful and the whole thing very good value for money.

 The cottage was really nice and spacious. The countryside around is beautiful. It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

 "Had the BEST time today at #croancottages in Co Kilkenny learning to butcher! Thanks to my host, owner and smallholder, beekeeper and trainer @francis.nesbitt and tutors @johngriffin6776 and @nudenutritionie. Inspired and looking forward to writing about it. Now hanging my handmade sausages!"

 Really impressive course and renewed my respect for the animals I love to eat but don’t think about nearly enough. Venison was delicious and it was a privilege to see her handled with such care by the Butchers.

 Brilliant stay - all the necessary amenities in a quiet, clean cottage - well situated for touring around Kilkenny and the sites around. Lovely piece of (working) farmland - plenty of space for the kids to run around and see animals (sheep, llamas, turkeys, peacocks, etc). Francis couldn't have been nicer... fantastic host - will definitely be back again :)
