Newsletter December 2008

Another year has passed and it’s hard to believe that we have reached the end of our fifth full year at Croan Cottages.

As we look forward to 2009 we’d like to tell you a bit about what’s been happening in the year just passed and about some new improvements we hope you’ll appreciate for next year.

Walled Garden Restoration

2008 has been the best year so far for our gardens. The greenhouse provided us with several gluts of delicious tomatoes, herbs and chillies and we were also able to get a lot of the other veg. off to a great start in there.

Croan Cottages Gift Vouchers Available

We’re delighted to announce that we now offer gift vouchers which you can buy securely online at http://www.croancottages.com/gift_vouchers.html

Be sure to add one to your Christmas list, provided you’ve been nice rather than naughty, of course! They might also make a nice stocking filler for friends or family. We would be happy to personalise each Gift Voucher for you.

Croan’s Animals

The Croan sheep flock increased this year with the birth of 2 new lambs in May and the adoption of another 4 orphans from our neighbour in June. The flock is now large enough to justify the addition of a full time ram and so the girls welcomed Rick the Ram in September of this year!

Ruby the cow, had her first calf in July, a lovely black bull calf named Angus. Since he was born Angus has grown at an incredible rate and is now covered in a thick hairy winter coat.

Our longstanding sows, goats, Pea Fowl, Geese, Chickens and Ducks are all in fine health and spirits as are Bella and Poppy.

New Website for 2009

Looking forward to 2009, Francis has designed and built a fantastic new website which retains all of the information of our old site but with a fresh new look, easier navigation and several great new features including a much improved online booking engine and secure online payment.

This new site will replace our old site over the coming days at www.croancottages.com

We wish you all a very happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
