Dog-friendly self catering holiday cottages in Ireland

We know – dogs and other pets are part of the family and somtimes they need need holidays too! Your dogs are welcome to come stay with you in your holiday cottage at Croan. Other pets may also be welcome, please check with us at the time of booking.

I just wanted to write on behalf and my husband Tom and our little dog Ted, to say how much we enjoyed our Easter stay at Croan cottages.

So often, 'dog-friendly' accomodation is very basic, but we found everything to be of the highest standard and wanted to say well done!

Most of us hate the idea of leaving dogs behind when we go on holiday. Some pets, especially dogs, will pine for the entire time we're away and may even sulk for a couple of days following when we get back!

A self-catering holiday cottage where your dog can stay with you may be the answer. Dogs are generally used to travelling in a car and can be taken on holiday without too much bother. While here, your house-trained dogs are welcome to stay with you at Croan Cottages. What's more, there is no extra charge for their stay. However, we do have some fairly common sense rules which apply when you bring your dog on holiday with you to Croan.

These rules are to ensure that you, our other guests and the resident animals at Croan Cottages enjoy your visit.

  •   As not all of our cottages are used for dog holidays, you must tell us that you are bringing a dog along BEFORE you come to stay.
  •   You should bring along your dog's food and water bowls, and their bedding.
  •   Make sure you bring your leash. While you are on holiday at Croan Cottages your dog must be on its leash when on the grounds. You may think that they do not need it, but our free range poultry think that it's better to be safe than sorry!
  •   When outside and on its leash, your dog must be in the care of an adult.
  •   Your dog must not be left in your holiday cottage unsupervised.

Please do not bring your dog along if you have a problem with any or all of the above. The rules are there to ensure all of our guests (with and without dogs) enjoy their stay. We will not make any exceptions.

We all love our dogs like another member of our family which is why many of us have pet insurances. It's important to make sure that our animals are healthy and having insurance for your dogs is as important as insurance for our children.  Buying pet insurance is a great way to be sure that your dog will have care under any circumstances. It's better to compare pet insurances when you're looking into buying it because you want to be sure that your dog gets the best dog insurance possible.
