Congratulations!

‎4 years after they first stayed with us at Croan (on their first weekend away together), Paul brought Lorraine away for a surprise weekend break at Croan Cottages last weekend. Then he used the occasion to propose to her! We’re delighted to report that Lorraine said Yes! Congratulations Paul & Lorraine, we hope that you have a long and happy life together 🙂

Bat Detecting!

As it was a beautiful, crisp night we decided to do some bat detection. With book and bat detector in hand we set about searching under the trees on the avenue  and around the pond. It took some time to attune our ears to the chips, ticks, plops and smacks which we could hear as the bats hunted for food high above us. During the search we identified Common Pipistrelles, Soprano Pipistrelles, Leislers and Natterers....

New M9 Motorway Open

The final stretch of the M9 motorway has finally opened! That means that it is now dual carriageway or motorway all the way from the M50 in Dublin to just 2 miles from Croan Cottages. I did the drive myself today and it took 1 hour and 33 minutes from Leeson St. to Croan (just 1 hour and 10 minutes from the M50). Now a break at Croan Cottages is even closer for all those travelling...
